Voici ce que nous attendons de la réunion du Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) de la Réserve fédérale américaine ce mercredi 16 septembre :

Les taux resteront inchangés.

Le SEP (synthèse des projections économiques) devrait montrer des révisions à la hausse des prévisions de croissance et d'emploi.

Toutefois, les projections médianes montreront toujours un taux de chômage légèrement supérieur au taux à long terme et une inflation juste inférieure à 2 % même à la fin de l'horizon de prévision en 2023.

Le « dot plot » continuera probablement à montrer des taux inchangés jusqu'à la fin de l'horizon de prévision, bien que nous nous attendions à ce que quelques participants affichent des hausses d'ici 2023.

La Fed devrait clarifier son changement de politique en signalant que les futures hausses de taux seront liées à l'atteinte d'un objectif d'inflation moyenne de 2 %, comme cela a été discuté lors de la réunion de Jackson Hole. Beaucoup de détails y ont été laissé en suspens, y compris une description de la manière dont seront utiliser les moyens de la Fed pour atteindre cet objectif.
